Rudy Gobert’s positive test for COVID-19 started a chain reaction that caused almost all major sports either to cancel or postpone every game or event for the month of March and perhaps beyond.

News keeps coming in at a pretty steady pace despite no games. Each update or political proclamation seems to push back the target for resuming the playback that much further of the NHL, NBA and Major League Baseball.

The NFL has been mostly business as usual finalizing its CBA just ahead of free agency arriving this week. Chris Simms reported that Brady’s decision will come down to either Tampa Bay or returning to New England. The Raiders are noticeably missing as well. New England is still the favourite, but if Brady is serious about leaving it would be surprising if there weren’t more teams involved.

The parade of other teams once rumoured to be interested has faded if Simms is to be believed. Unless Brady has ruled out the Los Angeles Chargers himself, it’s hard to believe they wouldn’t be at least a little interested.

But the absence of the Titans has to be a good sign for Patriots fans hoping Brady stays. Add to that the re-signing of Devin McCourty and Matthew Slater and it at least looks like New England is trying to make one more run with their veterans.
